Emails with NYPD Cold Case Squad Detetive Phillip Panzarella Regarding His Promise to Investigate Dorothy Kilgallen’s Death

22 Jul

After being contacted by Det. Panzarella two months ago and be assured he was going to “look into” the mysterious death of revered journalist and media icon Dorothy Kilgallen in 1965, a death that I have proven was murdered, Panzarella then refused to continue our dialogue following in the footsteps of others including NYC DA Cyrus Vance, Jr.,, Detective Richard Ramos, ADA Eugene Hurley, NYC Police Commissioner Dermot Shea, who promised investigation and then denied Kilgallen justice by never following through with those promises. If you feel strongly that an investigation is warranted, please contact Panzarella at phillip.panzarella@nypd.org.

Sergeant Detective Panzarella –

Since I am a straight shooter, I’m going to give you a heads-up on certain developments that will begin to occur in the media over the next few months regarding your Dorothy Kilgallen investigation, one that you began on your own, not at my request to you. First though, I am going to give you some information about me that if are you half of the investigator I believe you to be, you already know.

I am doing this because I would assume you believe as I do that during our lives, there are certain defining moments that dictate the type of life we lead and the legacy we leave behind when we pass into the next world, whatever that is. Because of your deciding on your own to probe Dorothy’s death, a defining moment is happening in your life and you must decide whether it is positive or negative in nature.

In case you don’t know, I am not your normal private person reporting a crime, but a former criminal defense lawyer (many of my best friends were police officers) who specialized in murder cases, a TV network legal analyst for CNN, ESPN, and USA Today for the Mike Tyson, O. J. Simpson and Kobe Bryant cases (if you want to see me interviewed, watch the ABC Mini-Series, “Tyson: The Knockout,” tonight at 8 pm EST, repeated tomorrow on Hulu), a bestselling author whose written nearly thirty books including two about Dorothy (“The Reporter Who Knew Too Much,” and “Denial of Justice” with another being published today entitled “Collateral Damage: The Mysterious Deaths of Marilyn Monroe, JFK and Dorothy Kilgallen and the Ties that Bind Them to Robert Kennedy and the JFK Assassination”). If you would like a copy of any of these books and I will send one to you.

If you take a look at YouTube, you will see that there are more than 2 million views of my presentations and interviews. One that may interest you focuses on “Denial of Justice” and that presentation (it went viral) may be watched at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYDaqto22NY

Now, I am not attempting to impress you with my credentials, but instead to encourage you to work with me on Dorothy’s case, not stonewall any investigation by failing to keep me advised of what is happening. We exchanged emails at first, and I have kept the voice mails you left, but lately, there has been no response to my emails or to a phone message I left for you, so I’m in the dark as to what may be going on. This should not happen whether I am Mark Shaw the former lawyer and current author or Mark Doe just as Dorothy deserves an investigation whether she was the celebrated media icon Dorothy Kilgallen or Dorothy Doe.

To help with the investigation, I have copied my initial email to you on my website (www.markshawbooks.com ) so that hopefully folks who read that communication between us will contact me with any new facts about Dorothy’s case which has happened in the past. As you’ll see below, I also let our 3500 strong newsletter support group know about your investigation and the email stream.

This all said, Dorothy’s case can be a once in a lifetime opportunity for you to show your investigation skills and by doing so, provide the justice this remarkable woman deserves, justice denied to her in 1965. If you want to know more about her, check out www.thedorothykilgallenstory.org.

Over the next few months, I will be promoting “Collateral Damage” throughout radio, TV and podcasts beginning Thursday with “Coast to Coast with George Noory,” a radio program that airs in NYC from 1 to 4 am and reaches a million people throughout the world each night. I’ve already taped podcast interviews with bestselling authors Eric Metaxas and Gianni Russo that will air this week and next and I’ll be appearing on the popular “Cats Roundtable” radio program on June 6. In case you don’t know, the host of that show is John Casatamedias, who owns WABC, and is huge supporter of mine regarding justice for Dorothy and of your police department. Perhaps he will recognize your name when I mention it.

As is the case with posting my email to you, I will be mentioning your being in charge of Dorothy’s investigation and encouraging people to contact you with new evidence during all media appearances. Meanwhile, I’ll be hoping to hear from you with updates on your probe so I can let the audiences know the status.

Sergeant Detective, we both know based on the evidence I provided that Dorothy was a victim of a homicide, and we both know that Ron Pataky was complicit in her death based on the mountains of evidence I’ve provided including the incriminating poems and the source I mentioned proving he set her up for the kill. He needs to be interviewed sooner than later and by doing so, you have a chance to break this case, be a champion for her, not let Pataky get away with murder. The end result: you can permit thousands upon thousands of people know the truth about what happened to this remarkable woman whose reputation was tainted by untruths about her at the time.. That is the legacy I trust you will choose and again, I will cooperate any way I may including paying a visit to you in NYC.

So as to make certain you receive this communication, I will mail it to you while copying Commissioner Shea on this email and the previous email stream so he is aware of the investigation.

Mark Shaw

P. S. In case you may feel I am only being a paladin for Dorothy so as to sell books, I assure you that is not the case. From the moment I became a public defender, I have always been all about justice and when it is denied, fought hard as I previous told you, because “The dead cannot cry out for justice. It is the duty of the living to do so.”
